This course provides an overview of project management principles and practices aligned with today’s organizational needs. It examines strategic project planning and the role of the project manager in ensuring that initiatives support an organization’s overall strategic objectives. The course defines project management, project lifecycles, and key project management competencies, highlighting how effective project leadership and well-structured processes can be core strengths for organizations.
Strategic challenges will be discussed regarding managing project scope, schedule, and budget constraints, navigating stakeholder expectations, addressing risk and uncertainty, and ensuring project quality. The course also explores issues related to resource allocation, team performance, and change management within complex project environments.
Additionally, the development and use of project performance metrics are examined, along with essential project management tools and methodologies such as Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Gantt charts, Earned Value Management (EVM), risk registers, and project audits. Emphasis is placed on integrating these tools to improve project efficiency, accountability, and strategic alignment.
